The MAIN reason I like the HKS is the self contained oiling system. Unlike the Vortech you are not running off the engine oil and it doesn't require tapping into the oil pan. Don't get me wrong the Vortech is a great kit for the $ and they do make good #'s BUT for me, I choose the HKS. If the vorech is what fits your budget go for it but I would pay the extra $ for the design and the build quality Just my .2

ok I dont know if this is off the topic, but the cooler looks smaller for the HKS. Does this mean that my Nismo/aero front bumper will be ok for air flow?

From what I understand the G requires some mods to the IC piping it has to be moved over a bit so it fits just behind the air duct. So the Nismo being a little bigger should be cool.

Should Be

I think it would be fine on the G. Here is where mine is located. Intercooler on the right, oil cooler on the left.

That would make it louder than normal . I believe that is the problem with most of the Vortechs too . The serp belt gets tightened up to much , and pulls the bracket so the pulleys dont line up quite right .

Just got a free upgrade (or should I say free fix) from HKS to change the core SC unit for a newer version. The outside look is exactly the same as the original one but once it is installed the difference is day and night in noise level. Before I always complained about its jet engine noise (though much better than stillen SC) but now it is very quiet and I am quite sure more than 90% of people standing next to my car won't notice I have a SC. When I drive I can hear is the muffler. And somehow I also feel that it revs up faster and smoother now. According to HKS the new SC core will be officially released at the end of this year.
