Talking APS TT Install, Valve Body, Impul, +++

What's up everyone ...

Ended up taking my fiancee's 2004 G35 AT coupe over to Ted at Scott Performance.

We're getting all kinds of goodies put on her car: APS TT, SP cams, VB Upgrade, custom true dual JIC exhaust, Impul body kit, 19" Volk CE28's riding on some BFG KDW2's, HKS HyperMax LS, StopTech BBK, upgraded 2006 headlights, SPC rear camber kit ... and I think that's it for all the major upgrades

I wanted to thank all those vendors who helped us get all of our parts:

James at Creative Autoworks ... Volks, Stoptech BBK, HKS HyperMax
Han at Intense MotorSports ... Impul Body Kit
SPC ... for their rear camber kit
Chadd? at Infspecialists via eBay ... for the OE 2006 Headlights
Alex at Xenon Factory ... for the 6000k Philips Bulbs

All I have to say is that all these guys delivered on what they promised and I would recommend them.

James was truely a pleasure to work with and I look forward to getting parts from him for any other projects cars that we may have ...

Han delivered a kit to my door albeit 3+ months from Japan, but the Impul kit was in perfect condition! Parts that I can't get from James, I will probably get from Han (especially hard to get parts from Japan)

Ted at Scott Performance ... so far so good I think, went down to the shop a couple of times to check out how the car was doing and to drop off parts for Ted to put on, but I do have a couple of questions for you guys on this forum ... I will start another more specific thread for that.

And last but not least everyone on this forum that has posted and contributed! Without forums like this, there would be so much more trial and error to find the right parts to mod the G's and Z's with!

So we hope to get the car back at the end of the week ... so far 2 weeks for all these things to be done on the car. Most definitely will be a Merry Christmas if all goes well!!

I know I told you before but get everything in writing before you have any work done at Scotts.

G352NV ... based on your comments and experience with Ted, I did get everything in writing + an inventory of all the parts that I had left with him .. that in my mind just makes good business sense. I hope that your experience with Ted was a fluke, but I do feel bad that you didn't get the quoted price for those cams. BTW how are your cams doing?

And thanks for your help!

Heres a PM I got from a member on my350z
Hey,

Listen I saw your thread about SP a few months ago and wanted to tell you I'm having a very, VERY similar experience.

I don't want to post about it at this time so please keep this between you and me.

Funny enough -- it involves cams. He told me he would put the APS TT in my car at $9500 without cams and $10,500 with cams. Now he's charging me $11,000 with cams, because cams are $500 in labor apparently. Same deal, backing out on the offered price.

Worst part is, this isnt the 1st time he's done this to me. He offered to take a look at my smoking issue before, no charge, and wound up showing me a $1,400 bill.

Don't feel bad -- you aren't the only one. When I go to pick up my car today I'm going to blow up on him, despite the fact that I like him and his service is hard to match.
This is why I go on about it. When I left that shop I told him it might be a good idea to put things in writing. He said he would from now on in the future. I guess that was short lived because a month after I got that PM.
I havent dyno'ed the car yet so I dunno. Im trying to get the car ALL the way done before I take it to my tunner. I will say that the cars idle is sheit. Its ok when Im sitting but when the R's drop it sometimes dies. Im sure the tune will cure most of this though. Im sure your car will run great my buddy just got is Z back from there. I dropped it off the same time I picked my motor up. Hes really happy with how the cars running. He fell for the WI and custom exhaust though. Ted is a hell of a salesman! For some odd reason Ted broke his windsheild and drive shaft. But I guess hes fixing it.

Vinh ... yeah the brakes, rims, rotors they all blend in since my fiancee drives this car her and I wanted to make everything look stealthy (but after we saw the red set of stoptechs on the other G35 next ours, the red ones are pretty nice)! Can't wait to see and drive our car.

Pics .... they are coming, i'm sure Ted is working on getting the car up and running. Last I heard from Ted the exhausts were being fabricated ... so I am thinking the body kit parts will be put on today as well as some tuning?
