Cutting OEM Bumper for Intercooler.

Hey guys, we're going to be installing a XS-Engineering GTR Core Intercooler, 31X11X3, on our G35 Project Car and I wanted to get some opinions on cutting the OEM bumper. Basically using a dremel to cut out a 35X12 whole in the front bumper to make room for the intercooler.

Here's a rough example using a civic...

Let me know what you guys think.

mm i suggest dont do that, it'll look really goofy with the 2 inlets that mix with a ghetto square in the center.

Why don't you just do it right and do it the way I did it? Why just cut when you can polyurethane weld it!

Looks very nice! Can you fit a OEM front lip on there? How much did that cost?

Thanks.

It was all custom done, so the price I paid is irrelavent, unless you come to Dayton, Ohio and have the same guy do it! That being said, the price was comprable to buying a name brand fascia and having it painted.

I'm sure you could fit a lip on there, especially since if I ever decide to go with one (which I have no plans of right now) I will have the same guy mold it all together to form one piece. The lines of the OEM lip take away from the overall appearance, imo.

Thanks for the compliments!

I agree.

If you like the way the stock bumper looks then why don't you try fabricating what turbonetics did with their intercooler by putting two fans on it. I am not a big fan of really any of the aftermarket body pieces.

Well after talking to Han at Intense Motorsports, we've decided to go with the Top Secret front bumper.

A little more appealing than cutting the crap out of my front bumper.
