That was my point . Tweaking as you call it , is tuning . And your not going to make huge gains like that . I tune my own car and Ive seen plenty maps of guys claiming thier shop tuned thier car to 390 to 425whp on a stock pulley .And thier maps dont look any different than mine . I broke a ringland tuning my car for more whp and running in 40 degree cooler temps than I tuned at . MIne was also very rich stock tune with the SS box . Its a simple program and easy to learn . And with the right equipment to aid in tuning [ knock detector or logger ] a optimal tune isnt that hard .

Have you dyno'd it anywhere else? Just a consideration..... like booger said; a 65 hp increase from tuning out of the box seems pretty insane.

So the best mod i can do right now is to buy my own Dyno and tune it myself so that no body can screw me and say that i gained more hp than i did.....is a dyno a bolt on? How much do you think shipping would be??????

Haha ha.....exactly!

Sorry but the gains I saw from a good tune....by one of the best Vortech dealers in the country.....were real...not smoke and mirrors to look good!

Nobody who tunes their own car in the driveway and has blown up one engine already.....is going to convince me otherwise.

awesome i think ive got all my questions answer thanks guys for all your help.

This should give me a good balance between HP and Torque becuase i will be city driving i want more torque so the exhaust should be single pipe dual out....

Pre Vortech:
Crawford HFC
Y-Pipe
Pro1 Exhaust (Any other recomends?)--Is this relatively quiet?
Motordyne Iso Thermal Plenum Upgrade

Vortech
Tuner Kit
RC440 Injectors
Walbro Fuel Pump
UTEC

Pro-1 is the loudest exhaust out there, go with the Nismo, thats much quieter.

So Nismo is the way to go if i want it to be realatively quiet but still open enough after headers for sum good power on a supercharger.....any other alternatives?

Honestly I wouldnt waste the money for headers. I seen it with my own eyes and talked to a million people who have done it and shop too. Headers on our cars dont do jack! If youre lucky you gain 3hp and at close to 800 or 1k for parts and install its not worth it.

I would go with....

Motordyne 1/2" spacer
HKS or Borla some type of (true dual)
Vortech and the SS Box/ATI go with Greddy E-manage Ultimate
Test pipes or some high flow cars Crawfords work great but you'll have a problem with them sooner or later.

With those basic things you should be good to go.

I think everyone is with me on this though... Once you open this can of worms, you dont know what will come up next. More parts more upgrades the craving for MORE and MORE BOOOOOOOOOST!

Good luck and enjoy.

HKS is loud but sounds amazing. Borla I think is the quietest my stock with test pipes was lounder than my borla with test pipes.

I just got my car tuned by GRD and by Tuan. I got about 340 rwhp and 310 ft/lb on a Dyna-Pak. I do feel a difference and datalogging proved that he did lean out the mix a little. This power was made with no adjustments to timing. I did feel a little disappointed until I read the dyno comparision thread at my350z. The Dyna-Pak can read low. A independent baseline dyno on a Mustang yielded 290 wrhp at 6k and then my power took a dump, so I would've been at about 310 wrhp at 6.5k. I have the sheets to post if someone will host it.

Does borla provide gains along the lines of the other exhaust's? I dont want my exhaust to be to restrictive for the supercharger but i do want it to be quiet. So i need to find some middle ground here. Any input on this would be a big help because i will be purchasing an exhaust soon.

Also how is GReddy sound wise? Real loud? and any info on the difference between the Evo2 and the GReddy street performance ver.2?
