APS TT> APS ST> Vortech

Get the TT if you have to choose between the APS kits... its a better value. If TN made a TT for 1k more I'd probably be mad too...

APS ST $6K as mentioned above.
APS TT $7,400

Install on ST about $1,200 to $1,500
Install on TT about $2,000 to $2,500

The difference will be about $2,200 to $2,500 more. I gaurantee you will lose more money if you buy the ST and then upgrade to a TT.....double install, resale loss on ST and support mods, etc.

I didn't factor in gauges or exhaust cause they will cost the same for TT or ST.

Gmann great break down couldn't have said it better myself....not to mention you get TWICE the fun from twins, TWICE the spool from twins, TWICE the wastegate flutter from twins, TWICE the "OH **** THIS IS SSSOOOOO FAST" feeling from twins. Imean what's not to love. I'd buy a TT based on those reasons alone.

thanks tig, helps alot since u had both.

now on the turbonetics ST kit, turbo-kits.com sells an upgrade package, so it would come with the kit and :
-Turbo XS UTEC
-AAM Spec II Fuel Return System
-Walbro 255LPH Fuel Pump w/ install kit
-(6) matched RC Injectors w/ Clips
-AAM Spec Plenum Spacer
if i got this extra package, would my car be a safe Daily Driver at around 400rwhp?

are those quotes for install by APS dealers? i got a quote by one in CA being $3-4K. or is it cos my car is AT and AWDx?

also, i believe it includes a 12K/1yr warranty when you have it installed at a APS dealer.

What I quoted is what most shops will charge for a TT install. I could see paying $3K, but $4K is a ripp off IMO. $3K would be on the high end, but still fair.

As far as the warranty what does that include? Parts should be covered for 12 months regardless of who installs it. If the part was defect it should be covered no matter what.

Yes that would be safe for 400whp.

That would put you at around $7,400. I don't get it. The ST turbo is an option over a S/C not a TT. For the same price you could get a TT. Again I am not knocking the TN because it performs very well, but for the same price I would rather have something that has more potential to grow.

i'll have to ask for more details on the warranty. quoting the dealer he said "12k/months on the engine".

I am still with Gmann on this one, there is no way Icould see throwing out $7,400 on an ST!!!! An APS TT would run you about the same damn thing and you could throw down over 400 all day long and when the time came increase boost and VIOLA!!! 480-500 hp it's that simple. Try doing that to a SIngle turbo setup and see how long that overworked, undersized turbo lasts with that much power.

you can just get the basic turbonetics setup, or the aps single, and have 400 safe rwhp. thats around 5-5.5k.

On my long list of mistakes with my G is not going TT. I am now upgrading the APS ST kit to try and handle ~500 whp. Lot's of money down the drain...

Because he would explode his motor like a hand Grenade..
You can get a Greddy TT for $6200 with intercooler and add better engine management.
Or you can go with an APS TT kit for $7500 and add nothing.
Or you can get a Vortech and add enginemanagement, fuel pump, injectors and return system..Its a world of options...
