Vortech Owners

Hey guys, Im just wondering besides your Vortech SC what other mods you have on your car, and your hp and tq numbers if you have them. You can see in my sig what mods I already have, I want a general idea of what I might be looking at once I put the Vortech on. Thanks, your input is appreciated...

all depends on what pulley you use with the vortech and whether you use the stock injectors or upgrade them, and if you use a return fuel system or not

if you took just a bone stock vortech and added it to your setup, you'd get about 100whp and 60wtq more than what you currently have.

If you went with a smaller pulley and upgraded the fuel system, you'd start netting in more power and torque with more boost coming on sooner

also depends on how you tune the car - agressive or conservative timing, what fuel octane you use, etc

I did the vortech w/ the whole works of add ons.. Fuel, HKS ECU, plenum, methyl injection, headers, y-pipe, full exhaust, valve body, and many more.
I pulled 365WHP, 330WTQ, at only 7psi on a mustang dyno. Very low boost for the vortech. Stock on the kit is 8psi. I also have a automatic. If you have a manual it will help the numbers.

On my original Vortech kit set up . Headers , RT cats , plenum , Dual exhaust . I had 350whp and 302trq . on 7psi with my AT5 on a Mustang Dyno.

I now have added a T-trim blower ,Nismo cams , 550 injectors , return fuel System , larger IC , VB , TC , tranny cooler and making 13 to 13.5psi from 6000rpm till redline [ belt slips after 6000rpm ] 421WHP and 333trq on a Mustang dyno with a AT5

Wow some nice numbers Im seeing. Thanks guys. to be honest, my goal is 350whp, with a conservative tune, and eventually upgrading stuff like injectors etc.

Sickg35, your engine bay looks delicious.

I installed a vortec kit on a customers car a few months ago. I'm not sure about torque but he made 330Whp on seven pounds with no tuning. Besides the vortec kit all he has is stillen exhaust and UR alt. and fan pulleys. Since then I have added a 9/16" skunk 2 plenum spacer and this weekend I'm installing a N.O.S IC sprayer.

With stock vortech kit & FMU + Crawford v5 plenum + Stillen headers & dual exhaust + hi flow cats I made 376whp and 317 wtq on DYNOJET (*after tuning).

With built engine (10.5:1 pistons) + Emanage Ultimate + 3.12 pulley + return fuel system with 440 injectors & walbro I made 410whp and 340wtq on a DYNAPACK (*after tuning)

i'm having to upgrade to 550 injectors, but went in for tuning today and made 410whp at 6100rpms - couldn't run to 6600 rpms because the injectors getting too lean.

this is on a dyno dynamics dyno - so about 450whp on a dynojet

Sentry, Those are some solid numbers. I forget, did you install return fuel system? I also bet the cams are definitely adding 30-40 HP. I am wishing I did cams with my build but the $$ just wasn't there.
