Not being a smart @*** - I'm really asking if it has happened. I know they eat belts, but are there any other risk factors?
I have only seen two blown motors due to the Stillen SC, One was an FX35 with stage 3, and the other was a stage 4 kit on a Z.

I'm weighing the pros n cos of both SC (Stillen) and TT {APS}. A shop mentioned that turbos are better for our engine. is that true? not sure if he's just trying to get me to spend more.

which shop is that??? is it on lafayette in SC?

I know of a couple Stage 3's that have blown. You can find them if you search here and my350z.
As for belts I know some people have problems if they track their cars. I have had my kit for a few months now and no belt problems yet. There were more problems with the old belts but Stillen switched to Gates belts and that seems to have helped. I do keep a spare set with tools in my trunk just to be safe.

i wonder if the car can still be driven even if the belt is messed up... - or does it have to be towed?

You can drive the car without the belt the spins the supercharger. The car will feel slower than stock but it will run just fine. Probably good idea to take it easy if until you get it replaced

Yes, when I first put on my SC I made the belt too tight and it broke within a few minutes so I had to drive it to get a new one. I was just very easy on it until I got a new belt.

Is there any other hood available for the Stillen SC besides the one put out by Stillen? I would definitely get this SC if it wasn't for that FUGLY hood!!

UGHH! Why can't somebody come up with a cool looking hood for this thing?!?!?

Have you seen the hood in person? If not, it does look much better than the pictures. Most of the people that see mine say they never liked it until they see it in person. It is more than worth it for the SC and it also sets you apart from the all the other G's on the road.

The car is very dirty in the pic but I don't have any others since it was painted.

Just a thought.

i sat in the driver's seat of Sukhi's sedan with the hood. the bulge looks more prominent on silver than it does on black. BUT - i was pleasantly surprised when i realized that my passport 8500 sits right where the bulge is and would complete obscure it from my view. so, nothing to get used to.

people with Stillen SC! - what have you done with your stock hood?! did you throw it away?... put it in the garage/bedroom?... please, details!
