AWD Rumor

AWD Rumor
I had to go to the dealer this weekend to pick up a couple parts for the G. A few of the shop guys asked me a couple questions about my car and we got on the subject of the GT-R, G37, and the second gen G35 sedan. They began talking about the AWD system in the G35sedan and then they began talking about that system going into the G37. Apparently a rep of infiniti or something told them this will be going on in 2009/2010. And rumored to be a convertable.. this was all from the mouths of the worker bees at the dealership.. thoughts?

Chupa...4600-4800lbs????
the ATTESA ETS system probably weighs in between 300-400lbs. A G37 Hard Top convertible AWD would probably be close to 4000lbs.
It just makes sense to make a convertible version of the G37 coupe. AWD maybe not so much but I wouldn't bet against it. With the 3 series awd coupes and now the A5s....might not be out of the question

The vert rumour has been floating for years.

If Infiniti does a hardtop vert G37, rest assured that it will most certainly NOT be available with AWD, which when you think about it makes sense. Buyers looking for an AWD G37 will most certainly be concerned about cold weather conditions and probably won't be in the market for a drop top. And if there does happen to be one or two people looking for an AWD vert, they'll be a small group of people which unfortunately for them would not be worth catering to on Infiniti's part.
From what I understand, an AWD G37 Coupe is being readied for the Euro market, but buyers will NOT be able to combine AWD with the Sport package (just like the '03-'06 G Sedan and '07 G Sedan) which means no 6M/T w/ AWD. At least not initially anyway.
