Nice find, saw this earlier. I'm very curious how this is going to look. Especially if the window shelf really makes it into production. That's about the only thing I don't care for on the essence concept.

 

Uhhhhhhh, okay. Reading comprehension 101? There's nothing in that article that states the Essense is coming to production. It just says that Infiniti's first production hybrid motor will debut in the 2012 M.

 

I'm not sure what the OP original intent was as the title is misleading. What I take from this article is that the new gen M will have many of the styling cues found on the essence concept. A four door essence if you will. This was no doubt the vehicle shown in Japan to those dealers lucky enough to go. The essence itself, as you said, will not be produced.

 

I understand that the essense itslef may not make production but what i took from the article is that the m will have the same styling cues of it.

 

I absolutely love the car from the side, and back, not crazy about the grill, interior is OMG beautiful. Maybe they should use it as design cues for the next G. That and a Direct Injected 3.7 with an option for a DI 5.0

 

The essence has been on the back of every car mag for the last 2-3 months....

And no, please don't use the design cues for the next G. Keep the G the way it is and make the essence it's own car.

 

Remove the grill and OMG will look sick!

I would rather see it as it's own car rather than just design cues in other cars, I just doubt they would really do it.

 

I got an invite to the event that Infiniti did here in Dallas. I took a ton of pictures of it. I heard them say over and over that this car has no plans for production and that they did it to celebrate Infiniti's 20th year. I wanted to know specs on the 0-60 and so forth and they had no information on that. I love the styling of the car, but I hate the luggage idea.

 

Luggage idea is sick. It's not like you have to use the bags. That's just an option.

What kind of confuses me is they aren't showing it with a 6mt option.... That's weird. A big engine coupe thats automatic?
