Q50 engines

http://www.autoweek.com/article/2013...ROIT/130129988

This year will be basically the same 3.7 as in the G37 and a hybrid that I'm guessing will have a hell of a price premium. With the Nissan-MB joint venture the 4 cylinder turbo in the base MB C class will be available down the line. I drove my in-laws C250 with this engine. 0-60 in 7.0 and it feels just about that. Not sluggish or weak but a definite drop in power and performance from my G35. Probably won't get the price drop from the 3.7 to make it worthwhile.

Also wondering if there will be huge discounts on the leftover '13's when the new model comes out. Could be a good time to buy as the Q other than a new front and rear design does not seem to be much of an advancement from the G. I'm not a big fan of techno toys that cost a lot and I don't use.

^^Agreed. From what I have heard the 3.7 in the Q50 has no power gains from the current generation.

I really like how the new Q50 looks though. Really sharp car from all angles IMO.

i hope they come out with a 3.0L V6 turbo as well. I like the fact how the 335i has the potential to have tons of power but also can get good mpg when your off the throttle.

i agree though, they should've just called all the sedans and coupes G50 and G60 and called the suvs FX60 and FX70. Why throw away 10 yrs worth of brand equity and alienate the customers you already have.
