Huge Problem For My Fx

Last night I was going out with some friends to go pick up some drinks for an exciting night. I was turning out of my development onto a short connecting road and took the turn at about 25-30 mph. The roads were wet with leaves and branches were falling left and right. The cars rear end began to extend out as I made my right turn. I went to go fix it and turn the steering wheel left and the car quickly shot left and forced me up above the curb into a damn tree. Damage to the front left of my car and I bent the wheel and did a whole other number to it. Barely was able to drive home. The wheel was being turned to the left about 45 degrees in order to go straight. I personally think its around 8 to 10 grand damage. Its only a month and a half old.

I mean a black 2006 FX35 AWD with the sport package...now its pointless, and put me in a pissy *** mood.

Wet Leaves totally suck

Dam man. It's not a full time AWD system so over 18mph (I think 18) it's all RWD until it senses slip.

"branches falling left and right" - sounds like very nasty and dangerous conditions to be driving in.

Sounds like you were on the gas when you needed to be on the brake.

G/L with the repairs.

lol. i agree. hopefully as a young driver he will learn from this because next time he might not be as lucky.

the important thing its that hes alright. the car will be repaired.

use you head and calm down with the accelerator. AWD dosent mean idiot proof.

AWD doesn't mean it doesn't slip... you can still easily get uneven traction, esp. w/ too much throttle in slick conditions. did the VDC kick in?

Sounds like he made a 90 degree turn on a wet surface with leaves on the ground at 30 mph... AWD/VDC won't do crap for you under those conditions...

Definatly a bone headed move...

Glad your ok tho...
