I'm not sure about the highway MPG yet.. we don't pay a lot of attention to it. I'll try to remember to check it next time.

BTW, the 7AT does revmatch downshifts into 1st gear via the paddles... I don't recall her 2006 FX35's 5AT doing that. Tonight we tried dropping into 1st and it revved to 5,000 rpm and then selected 1st gear. Pretty cool.

The interior is outrageously good on the new EX and FX, both easily best in class (perhaps excluding Audi). While I think exterior of the first generation was better looking, the only thing that really bothers me about the new one are the 35's 20" wheels - so very bland - and the chincy side vents. But, all-in-all, it's a huge improvement in every quantifiable way.

The interior on the thing is sick! Not a big fan of the exterior.

The interior is awesome. Wood trim looks real good! The front kinda looks like a hyunadi or something.. cant put my finger on it.....

I stopped off at the dealer this morning to get my oil changed in my G. I was able to exam an 09 FX35 in the lobby.

First off, I must say the interior is amazing. It might be one of the nicest cars I've been inside. Wow! I love how they did the stitching on the seats and the leather on the doors.

As far as the exterior, I think I've figured out what is bothering me - it is the front grill. When you're looking at the new FX straight on you notice that the grill sits more centered (vertically) where the OG FX the grill sits up higher (right below the hood). I think it really changes the look of the ute.

I think the side and back look good, just the front appears off.

Just my $.02.

Congrats on the new car, now what can we do to get a Stealth Cord in that new car? :-P

Heh I guess you could send me a free one?

I made my own cords using rs-232 pins from Fry's. One for the wife's FX and one for my G37. While it wasn't a big deal to solder up, I can't imagine it being easy enough for me that I could sell it for $14.95 and feel like it was worthwhile. I'm impressed that you can profit sufficiently with that price!

Oh, and we felt that way about the front too... Once we'd seen it enough times we got used to it and now the 1st gen looks bland to us. Funny how that works.
