Hey everyone, thought I'd throw some of these questions out there.

1. When sitting in the passanger seat of our FX, i hear a ting ting ting which I think is coming from the front right tire. is this the wheel bearing? its not REALLY noticeable, but i can hear it when we're going about 15-30 mph when we're up against a building because the sound bounces off the wall.

2. Just a concern sometimes...but the engine area seems REAAAAAAAAAALLY loud sometimes?? I'm not entirely sure if this is just the noise of the tires, or if its the engine itself. Its as if I can't even hear a higher rev over the constant ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh hhhh the whole time we're in the vehicle. Should i be concerned? Before we bought it I just knew that FX's were normally louder...THE EXHAUST we LOVE, but not the noise comin from the FRONT?

There is not much action here for the FX, but please don't leave, hopefully we can get more FX owners coming here. This is a great site

But may I suggest also posting this on this site that is dedicated to the FX/EX, Click here: http://www.infinitiscene.com/
I know there have been some problems with front wheel bearings.

Hmmm, you should take it in and get it checked out. My FX didn't have that problem, then again, mine's a 2003 model.

uhm.. the ting ting tin sound... does it sound like a flat tire, but the tire is fine???
i have this on my 2006 G35, and it is a bearing...
to change a bearing on infiniti, most likely you will need to change a hub cuz it might lock when they take it off...

IF it is a bearing, itll just get louder, but you can still drive like you normally drive, its just annoying

sorry, now the whole thing, im pretty sure 99% its the bearing, because on my G35 i had the TIng Ting sound first, but then it started going Ehhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh... mostly at 40-60 mph.. to replace a bearing with a hub is around 400 plus labor...

rust
I am looking to but a 2004 fX35. It has a few paint chips and my BF is worried about it rusting rather quickly. Does anyone have any advice on the rust issuses? Is it reliable? I have drove a Mountaineer for 11 years and it has 180,000 miles. Still runs great and the suv has been excellent to me. it is just now starting to rust pretty bad. I want to try something different.

You can take it to an Infiniti dealer and let them check out the problem for ya.

Why would he be concerned about rust? Is there visible perforated rust?
