lol - no worries. I have no plans to paint the interior. I want to switch over to the OEM all-black interior, which means swapping out my "willow" pillars, head liner and visors. There might be some custom work in the future - but after I attack my electronics and hack into the dash.

I've already had one of the seats re-covered due to a rip in the OEM leather and considered going for the red stitching at that time. The repair was about $400 and the guy wanted another $650 per seat to change the stitching in addition to the panel replacement. I didn't go for it but he did a great job with the OEM repair. If I do decide for upholstery in the future, I'll go back to him to see what we can come up with.

Infiniti 1st gen did have all an black OEM interior but not very common. Mine is black from the carpets all the way up to the pillars. I have a friend here in Houston with a Copper FX that has an all black interior and seeing his is what made me want it. A second motivator is that I have Dynamat behind the doors and under the back seat. I'd love an excuse to wrap the pillars and headliner. Getting the upper black interior would be a great reason to knock out both mods.

I am SO picky when it comes to doing custom interiors. I don't like suede because it never looks clean enough for me. I'd have to brush that **** every damn day and it would drive me nutz. It would look good clean, but it would kill me otherwise. I didn't even mention I have two kids... the OEM leather wipes up very easily!

Couple other updates. When tearing down the car to swap the longblock in, we removed the GTSpec 4 pt ladder brace and noticed it took some serious damage. Guess it was road debris? Don't ever remember doing these things:

Hit that ***** so hard I knocked it off square!

So the ladder brace is coming off and not going back on till after my down-pipe connects to the exhaust just in case there might be some interference.

Also, I'm swapping out the Eibach pro-kit springs for a BC racing coilover kit. Couple other FX owners out there have them and can't stop talking about the ride improvement. Of course, the fact that you can adjust the dampening helps customize the feel to the individual. I'm not surprised they are so well liked. And the warranty is great - $99 replacement for any corner for any reason.

Dropped them at the shop on the 15th. When I go back on the 17th, they should be installed.

Completed longblock package, new valve covers & tensioners. Everything else was transferred off my OEM block.

And the new suspension installed:

Looks great. I've always been a fan of FX's. I'm not feeling the grill though...I think it's a swing and miss for people.

1st turbo FX i've seen

Thanks! Check out the TT FX on the first page of this thread - Rookie's FX is the stuff of legends.

I know of a handful of turbo FXs. JWT TT kit has sold a couple kits to the FX community. I just didn't want anything adapted from the G35 or the 350 because of the space and kit packaging for those platforms. We have so much space under the hood I thought we could do better with charge pressure drop, not to mention presentation. I'm really happy so far...

Actually I think they are specific to the FX - as far as the adapter bracket goes. The Aero rotor, calipers & pads are used on the Z, G, and FX.
