The Politics forum has taken its toll on me. The OT one was quite dry this morning as well...

i'm well aware that i made a mistake by not making a full stop at the sign. i think it's a normal thing to feel upset when you get a ticket, so obviously i'm going to b*tch about it. i'm not saying i didn't deserve to get it, but how is it fair that the guy after me gets let go with just a warning?

thanks to those that actually posted advice.

Life isn't fair. Maybe he had a better attitude than you. Maybe you were a smart as$ and he wasn't. Maybe the cop was gay and liked the guy's package. Who knows? Bottom line is you allowed the cop into your world - the rest is history.

My comments were directed at you, but moreso to the crows who flocked in to degrade law enforcement. I know it's disappointing that people can't run the streets in any manner they wish, but that's the world we live in. If you choose to do otherwise, you get to enjoy the reward that goes with it.

I can tell you this - if I ever got a ticket (and it's been over 25 years now) I certainly wouldn't post about it in a forum known for flaming traffic offenders. LOL.. With your history and inability to learn from your mistakes, I'd get used to it.

If they got ticket clinic where you live, give them a call...I've had like 3 tickets this year, and they cleared them all.

there are a lot of Cops lover here so this forum is not a place to bitch about. I don't care if 99Atlantic has been here longer than most of us but he does post stupid comments. I'll be upset too if I was in your situation especially if cops are not being fair.

Getting cought sucks...............

I had 27 moving violations from the time I turned 16
until I was 20.....doing stupid things....driving that
type of car....hanging out on Van Nuys Blvd in the day. All these thing contributed to my downfall and
with the cost of insurance. If you do stupid things
you'll get nailed...fact of life! Yea, another adult!!

The cop only did what I gave them the OPPORTUNITY to do. My fault, not his. If I want to b*tch, I'd start with the person looking back at me in the mirror.

I crack up when I hear people whining about getting busted for what they themselves had the opportunity to avoid. If you don't want a ticket, don't break the f'in law. How hard is that? If you choose to do things 'your way' because you think the law is stupid or outdated, fine, just don't whine like a b*tch when you get caught.

Too f'n funny. More like this please.
It's not about getting busted, it's about the way they do it. Since you OBVIOUSLY are not/don't live in Southern California, you haven't seen the means the motorcycle cops go to write you up. They hide behind houses, bushes, cars, you name it. If you pass the stop sign by 1/2", they'll write you up. A trend of theirs is to round up cars and then issue each one a ticket (what happened to her). That is much different from an officer seeing you doing something illegal on the road and pulling you over. These bike cops like to wait near stop signs on the bottom of hills (whatever improves their chances of nailing you). They will also send pedestrians to cross the street randomly and anyone who doesn't yield (even though you don't get much of a chance to slow down before them) will be chased, and then written up.

Sorry missxhuslta, I feel your pain

[QUOTE=misSxhuStLer]I JUST GOT A F*CKING TICKET!!!!

Sorry to hear about your ticket. I live in northwood irvine and i've noticed irvine PD has been everywhere lately...seems they need to make more money for the city. Saw one patrol car and a bike cop on my way to work this morning and I work 5 miles from my home! Be careful out there!

no it was on jamboree and robinson. i've heard a lot of cops hide out there as well, so i'll just have to be extra careful from now on.

Well, after 1 year in my G, no tickets for 3 years, i decided that I should try to see what the car could do. I am 26 years old, feel as though I have grown up, but I am still young at heart. It was 3pm in the afternoon on a 2 lane southern road with absolutely no cars. I have always wanted to push the car and now i realize that I should have paid to get her on the track. Anyway, I get it up to 145... 150... 155 mph... The car felt sooo solid, and then coasted back down to the 88 (limit was 70). At 88 I felt like i was just crawling so I maintained 88 mph for about 1 mile. All of a sudden a police cruiser comes up from behind with flashing lights. My stomach was in nots! I pulled over and was waiting for the handcuffs to come out. I shut the car off and rolled down both windows. He asked me what speed I thought I was clocked at and I stated, "I have no idea sr., was I speeding?" He laughs and I thought that was the end. I was waiting for him to say 155mph! He finally come out with it, "I clocked you at 88mph, that is a bit excessive, are you in a hurry sr.?" "No officer!" I was thinking, HELL YEAH HELL YEAH!! ILL TAKE IT! I was so happy and I think that the officer thought I was crazy. Anyway, I contacted a lawyer and it will cost me $235 to get it dropped to a non-moving violation! Life is 60% luck!

I learned: Don't be a dumba$$ on public roads... buy a vortech and get to the racetrack!

First of all, Atlantic didn't post anything stupid. Want to read something stupid? - read the first post in this thread. You break the law, you pay for it. Why is it so hard to comprehend???

As to letting the other guy go... There are a lot of fish in the sea, he can't catch them all. Certainly not when he is in the middle of dealing with another driver at that moment. Your argument is just as lame as that of a speeding driver's argument when he says: "Everyone around me was speeding, how come you pulled ME over?..."

Grow up people: Life isn't fair. I'm not an angel on the road myself, but you certainly won't find me bitching about a ticket when I get one. If I decide to bend the rules, I know I should be ready to pay the consequences.

Irvine PD blows.
They're such jackasses.

They're just as bad as Torrance PD.

First and last week of the month, i've learned to ease off and be a little extra careful.

It's just not worth it anymore.

Take it from me.
FOUR tickets in FOUR months.

2 of those were complete BS.

They shouldn't be called COPS.
They're campers.

UGH.

Miss Hustler, you DID do the crime.
But some pigs are just jealous and have womanly moments.
I'm sure the other car that was pulled over and let go wasn't as nice a car.

Good luck fighting.

To make your weekend better, eat some jokbal or sam gyup sal.
Chew on dat sheet REAL hard.

It'll make you feel better. Trust me.
