That is the knock sensor. It is a donut shaped device with an electrical connection along the circumference and a metalic base that contacts the engine. The bolt going thru the center, holds it tight against the mounting surface. I don't think there is an electrical grounding connection, it picks up the shock from engine detonation and sends signal to the control module.

no you dont need one.. if you hook a volt meter up to it and shake it you'll see that it produces voltage..

the only ground GG is missing is the ground thats below the intake variable valve sprocket.. those of you thats installed the stillen engine damper know what i'm talking about

There's also a nice healthy ground below the washer reservoir. If you look there are two nice bolts holding that baby down. I'm also tied into that grounding point.

You've made your point many times. I respect your point of view but it becomes tiresome to read the same thing so often.

He must have an alert set up to notify him everytime someone post something about automotive grounding. He is like an attack dog to the grounding market.

The notion of adding secondary ground loops is very different from the idea that swapping your stock ground wires for larger aftermarket wires increases performance. One can drop the characteristic impedance of the ground pathways WITHOUT adding additional loops. You should at least fully comprehend what I say before you're justified being anti.
