dealer replaced wheel they damaged
Hey fellas,
I brought 4 PS2's to my dealership for them to install. ($120 install was the best price I could find for bringing my own tires.) Basically, they messed up one of my rims and replaced it with a new one. Then I had to pick the tires and my car up and take it to the local Discount Tire to have them install.
My question is, the rim the dealer replaced looks nice but seems about a million shades lighter in color. Was there a slight change in wheel paint from '05 to '06 or is it just a UV thing? Either way, it's too far off to not be noticeable.
This is on an '05 coupe with stock 19's.

Unless they can do it in the 30 minutes they had the car, I don't believe so. My tech seems pretty honest, so I trust her when she said she replaced it and ate the $600+ replacement cost.
I may run it by her tomorrow.

What's wrong with asking her why the color doesn't match? Don't look like it was done as a favor, but rather, something that they need to replace. This replacement needs to be the exact as the others. So don't settle if it doesn't match.
Nothing wrong with asking her. Why do you ask?
I actually left her a message yesterday but thought some of the g35 brethren here could tell me if there was a color code or manufacturing change. Sounds like we don't know or assume not.
Either way, thanks for the responses. I do appreciate them.

Well, it's been some time and I've noticed that the wheel is, in fact, a lighter shade of grey.
My service gal said she would make it right the next time I brought the car in. My '05 19" wheels are a darker metallic grey that match the same color within my headlamp housings. She offered to replace the other three wheels with new ones but my gal and I agree, we like the darker version better. So hopefully they have a darker one on one of their used models.

Oh well. Hopefully the dealer comes through.
I believe in fact the colors are different, I noticed it when I was shopping for my coupe, because they had an 05 and an 06 parked next to each other and I pointed it out to the salesman, but he didn't know squat.
