Selling the G coupe through a dealer?

I am currently trying to sell my car:

https://g35driver.com/forums/g35-cars/103892-fs-2005-g35-coupe-6mt-black-obsidian-columbus-oh.html

Some dealer saw my ad and left me a message saying that they can guarantee the sale of my car for my asking price to one of his buyers...I never knew a dealer can act as a middle man when someone is privately selling. Has anyone heard of this? Is the dealer expecting to get some kind of commission off of my car? Do you think there is any negative implications?

Thanks in advance for your input.

At that price, I bet he will sell it. I've seen the same ride advertised closer to $36,000.

Since I bought the car at $37,000 I doubt I will be selling it close to $36,000. I am sure he will be able to sell it, but I don't want any cash coming out of me for his service if I can do it on my own.

I am still trying to figure that out, not sure if there is any commission involved but I wouldn't be surprise if there is. I won't be driving another car, right now my company provides me a rental for the weekends and they have their own insurance that covers me. I travel out of state and they provide me a rental as well. So basically, I wouldn't be spending money on insurance, car, or even gas. Which is why I am considering selling the car, it doesn't make sense in throwing money away on something I rarely drive even though I love the car

Not sure about there, but here I've done this many times to save on tax since the sale is treated as a trade-in on your next purchase.
