can't you just threaten to return the car to them? Thought you have a certain amount of time to return a car if you aren't satisfied. Blew my clutch on a slightly used 3000GT within a month of purchase, they completely redid the clutch, free of charge, cause I threatened to return the car.

You should always get what you paid for.

You must be clueless, this is a VERY common practice when you get spoilers added on that are not factory installed. 9 times out of 10 the the spoilers you get at the dealership are aftermarket. Some are open about it and let you know but most dont, cuz face it: other than the minority who visit sites like these, most people have no clue whats a Nissan spoiler and what isnt. Ive said this before, but if you find a car you like but doesnt have the spoiler and the dealer says "oh no big deal we can put it on for you" make sure you get it in writing that its " OEM NISSAN SPOILER" and diffusers on the part where it says promised work. The best way is to just order your car, which is the route I took.

Also they dont HAVE to do anything with the third brake light. Some dealerships do take it off ( its not that hard to do ) as a courtesy, but you cant hold a dealership at fault for not doing that.

pm me the dealership along with your name and date of purchase

i will guarantee that action will be taken. my friends dad is the manager of customer service for nissan north america.

and yes, he did get me an increadible deal on my car

this situation should never happen and if you have it in writing i would take them to court and recieve some compensation.

With your wealth of knowledge and unlimited amount of experience I am utterly reduced to mere dust. You feel better?

I don't know if this is nationwide or just state specific but did you get/sign a form that says "We owe you..."

With the last 3 cars I've purchased, there was a half sheet sized carbon copy form that states what the dealership has promised (if anything) beyond what is in the contract for sale.

The Factory Aero Package is good because it comes without the third brake light inside the rear windshield.

The dealer installed aero package is simply the rear spoiler. The third brake light is disconnected...that's it.

They do have to drill holes inorder to install the spoiler.

Now....If they did, indeed, put an aftermarket spoiler on...you should shove your foot so far up their @$$ that your laces come out their ears because that's absolutely retarded. (i'm a sales person at an infiniti dealership by the way).

Now when we install the spoiler in house...we do not take the third brake light out....HOWEVER...My customer once ordered the aero package and waited three months for his car specifically cuz he did not want that third brake light...but when it came in it had the third brake light...we took that out and its as good as new.

The aero package from factory comes with the spoiler and rear diffusers (NO SIDE DIFFUSERS).

The rear diffusers really don't do much for the car but hey....you paid for it so you should get it, even though it doesn't do anything.

The way I see it...if the dealer put a fake aftermarket spoiler on...they need to do whatever they can, such as replacing the rear decklid to fix the problem....

If it is a real spoiler...then ... I think as far as they car concerned...they think they did their job.

Don't take any $hit from these guys. A dealership did this with me once with a keyless entry system. I thought I was getting Honda OEM then I get the car and I'm like WTF is this VIPER crap? And on top of that, they had installed it so incorrectly that when I would lock the doors the wipers would swipe the windshield once. I had them remove the POS keyless entry system. I mean seriously...WTF. You have to watch out for these guys. Some dealerships will wring every bit of value out of their dollar to make a profit on your dollar.

I got the spoiler after the fact at Infiniti of Raleigh. It was the factory aero kit. There were plenty of other cars that had it - so I don't know how they can put on a non-OEM brand???

BTW, I like the rear deck light in addition to the spoiler light... all those LEDs look cool - and it's probably safer...

we only install oem spoilers.
We won't do any aftermarket parts.
I don't think that a dealer should do aftermarket parts unless specified by the customer.

Lean over...............?

If the Aero package was included in the contract I'd
find out who the owner is and have a heart to heart
with him. Be cool, but explain the situation and how
his people didn't follow thru with what you wanted.
And..........you want it taken care of!

The rear diffusers channel air from underneath the car to reduce lift.

Now unless you're a hardcore racer and you race your car all the time at super high speeds...you really won't feel it working.

Thanks. Good points. I have tracked my car.

According to Infiniti the aero cars like mine also have a lower drag coefficient rating .28 versus .29. This would also suggest some small benefit in fuel economy.
