Brake, Slip and VDC Light On
My (parking) brake, Slip and VDC Lights are on, and stay on when I drive the car around. I took it into the dealer and they told me that I need new brake pads, but that doesn't sound right to me. I've already order new pads anyways, since they need replacing. But I wouldn't think that the lights would warn me of that.
Anyone have any ideas what it might be?
TIA.

If your brake fluid is not to the "full" or "max" mark in the resivour, whatveer it is, you'll get those lights.
When the brakes wear down, the fluid in the resivour naturaly lowers, because the piston stays out further, and there is more fluid in the callipers. When you push the piston back to accomidate the new thick pads, the level will raise again.
You can fill up the resivour, but it will be overfull when the pads are replaced, and will overflow, and then eat the paint in the engine compartment.
Ide fill it up to clear the warning lights, but I'd use a turkey baster or something similar to suck some out before you do the brake job (or before someone else does, because they wont do it, they'll just push the piston back not giving a f*** where the fluid goes..

I had my pads replaced in Feb. after the lights came on.
