well here in NY state a licence to carry consealed allows you to do just that. however its very hard to obtain a carry permit here in ny due to the tree hugger liberals running the government... But if you read into ny states pistol laws it is seperate to a (long gun) law. Long gun being a firearm with a barrel of 16 inches or longer and not registered as a pistol. The law state that you may carry a pistol loaded when in transport to and from your hunting or targeting destination. Go figure... so basically if you get cought with a loaded piston in Ny state excluding NY city permit. you best explain where your comming from or where your going to... a little Imfo to chew on if your in NY state. remember long guns and pistols are not in the same firearms family... Officer asks why your have a loaded pistol.... you say Im going hunting or targeting... the burden of proof is on the Law... just use your head people. carry responsably and carry safe. every day cops pullover vehicles with firearms unknown to them.... thats the danger BUT if you leave it in plain site expect to be questioned.... OUT OF SITE OUT OF MIND...

i have a chainsaw "surgically" attached my arm.

I carry mines on my person. Main and backup. And I always inform Jonny Law when I get pulled over by handing my pistol permit with my license. I feel safer knowing that they know. Cops don't like surprises and neither do I.

well if i have anyone in my back seet theres a compartment in the arm rest that i tell them to throw there **** in if i ever get pulled over

 

Even if your not required by law you should notify a LEO if you have a firearm in your car when pulled over, I always have one in my G but its right where its suposed to be on my hip, or ankle in a holster. when i do have to remove it i put it in the little glove box above the normal one, most people dont even know its thier. then again i dont have NAV either.
