Buying a G35 coupe...
hey guys, new to the forums here.
i have a 99 eclipse gsx with 30k miles. but im kinda wanting something new now and my top3 choices are: G35 coupe, evo, or Sti
my question is, how are g35's in the winter time? and how is the maintenace on them? are they in the shop frequently? ... and would they be a good daily driver for me? im married and have a 3year old son.
what your opinions on the 3 cars i mentioned?
thanks, josh

Congrats. I had modified '97 GSX that would really stomp the competition.
If you're looking for different, then rule out the EVO... ...unless you need something with the same performance potential as your GSX. The EVO feels lighter and geared shorter than the GSX.
I'd lump the STi under the same heading as above.
I have a son that's getting close to 5, and he still fits just fine in the back of the coupe. Moving to a booster seat (from the big baby seat) created more room as well. My car is used by me and rarely does anyone else ride in it, with the exception of my son and I cruising. My wife drives the family car. I got the G because it's equiped with a backseat for emergency situations, and it's served me well so far.
Just decide what's most important to you. While I was never beat in my GSX, I still enjoy the G more. You just have to come to grips with not being so fast... ...or spend a lot of money to make it fast.
Good winter tires seem to do the trick, if you don't have a winter beater. Personally, I'm in West Texas so I run summer tires all year. It's no more than a month of temps too cold for the tires to perform ideally, but those days are rarely accompanied by standing snow.

thnx guys, yea i mean a g35 is my first choice, but my wife really wants me to get somthing with 4-doors for our lil man.
my price range is around 20-23k depending on my upcomming bonus (5-10g) plus whatever my gsx is worth (prolly 12-14k) considering the rare mileage =)
think i can snag a G for around that? used of course.
