Okay so one of the guys in the car pointed out that he didn't actually give me an exact speed, which means it is possible didn't actually clock me at a certain speed, just new I was going fast.

Either way, I will take all of your advice and count my blessing.

 

Police officers have discretionary powers in regards to traffic violations, infractions. It is not mandatory for them to issue you a citation every time they stop you. They can just give you a verbal warning. It's not uncommon. But CHP in CA, forget about it!

awesome story, I had a similar one where i was shocked i didnt get arrested.

I live in NYC and go to work at 3:30am.. Anyway, i was running late and was heading north on the FDR drive at about 85MPH (Speed Limit = 40)...
So im clipping along and the lights start flashing behind me.. I knew i was busted and had no excuse so i pulled over, and got all my ID ready.. Turns out it was an unmarked car. The guy comes over and is like, " Are you fu***n kidding me?, Do you know how fast you were going?" I had no excuse and just said im sorry, i was running late for work etc. etc.. He asked where i worked, and i told him.. which is about 2 miles from where i got stopped.. He runs my license and comes back and says, "Ok, get the F*** out of here"
I was like. "umm, ok...thanks officer" I swore i was going to jail but was very , very lucky... no ticket, nothing... My theory is that it was 5mins to 4am, and maybe his shift was almost over and just wanted to go home and not deal with all the paperwork... who knows.....

 

smh...damn ur lucky man, i got pulled over for the 1st time in my whole life a couple of days ago by a undercover Dodge Charger all hooked up with rims & tint. ive driven under the worst of predicaments and i get pulled over doing freakin 80 mph and tailgating...he let go of the speeding..which was 30 over the limit but he charged me with the tailgating= 4 pts on my license & me goin to a drivers class..or payin sum place 50 bucks.

 

yeah.. that's a lot of money, even for a fully loaded 6MT. Sucks about the ticket though.
