Window tint on a leased car?

The G will be my first leased car I dont plan to do any mods except tint the windows, nothing too dark probably 35% all around. Will I get hassled when my lease is up? I know the dealership can probably do it but a local shop here is a lot cheaper $180 w/lifetime gaurantee I've seen dealerships charge $400+

I was actually going to call them today to find out, and you just reminded me.

I wanted to at least tint the windows, and add my own set of rims/wheels.

I always lease and always put on tint never had a problem yet. for rims and tires just keep the stock ones and put them back on before you return the car.

Most leases will not tag you unless your modifications have lowered the value. Tint should be fine.

Your worried about tints?

I got 35% fronts and 20% rears on my leased G. Along with clear corners, LED lighting, Z- Tube w/ Stillen CAI, and much more to come

Then you probably want to avoid the self applied tints, or the really bad places. If there are bubbles in the tint, that can't do anything but lower the resale value.

yea you can do whatever you want as long as the car can be sold. don't think of it as the bank owns the car, the bank's goal is to sell the car after you give it up.

You are somewhat correct. If you go & put a wild cistom paint job on it, lets say $10k. When you turn the lease in the vast majority of the public will not want it & therefore the value is deminished. Tint is no big deal because most people want it & removal is cheap if they don't. Extremely dark or crappy installed tint they might ding you for. I know my example is extreme but I hope it helps. Also most leases have a small amount $250-500 allowance for small repairs--rock chips,etc--when the lease ends so if it needs removed they won't ding you.

I just leased a new 06 coupe as well and planning on getting tints. I had a leased 06 mustang V6 before and the car got totalled in a car accident about 3 weeks ago had 25% tints in the fronts and on the rear window 5%. Goin to get tints here too but maybe a little lighter.
