Omfg! Hahahaha
This was absolutely HALARIOUS! So I was drivin home a few min ago and I pass up this Toyota Highlander Hybrid... going all slow, like a hybrid SHOULD be driven. And I'm thinking, "Yip, how THAT'S how you get your high-mileage claims... kudo's... I couldn't do that!"
Well, we get onto a 40 MPH stretch of road... and he, out of NOWHERE, guns it past me... I'm like "Wow, WTF?!?!" We come to light, and once again, he GUNS it, challenging ME? "Oh, HELL NO, I'm not having a Toyota hybrid hand me my ***!" Well, of course I gun it and win (caught and pasted by 35 MPH as he caught me off gaurd from launch and by 60 we were comin up on some traffic, so we both backed off, but I was pretty much victorious), but WOW, WTF just happened? A little old man in his Toyota hybrid challenging me?! When ricers, A4's, A3's, 3-series, etc driven by kids who think they're all that wont race me? Not that I'm complaining, I was laughing my *** off all the way home, great stress reliever when an old my piloting a Toyota hybrid challenges you to a race.

i dont think he was trying to race you. why would he? probably just wanted to do some high spirited driving like the previous poster said. sometimes i do that. i gun it from light to light just to have fun and then the car next to me thinks im showing off or tryin to race when thats not the case at all.

Flip side of that...one night I was in CA for work with a buddy on board, in some pos rental chevy malibu. Driving along the PCH at like 10PM and along comes this 500 series Mercedes. Totally staring over his shoulder like he wants to race. 500 series Mercedes at like 380 or 400hp Vs a detuned, burnt out malibu at like 120hp.
So I indulged him up to 15mph. Then at 15mph I'd let up on the gas and just cruise on to the next light up to 30mph while he soared on by. The poor fellow had no reaction time at all. We did it like 4 times in a row. Mustve had issues. Every time we pulled up alongside him at a light we couldn't stop laughing...I don't know if he ever realized I wasn't racing him past 30 feet or so.
