My APS TT G35

OMFG, this thing is insane! I got it on the road at the beginning of the week and I can't stop driving it. All I can and want to hear are the turbochargers hissing and the blow off valve venting away. Incredible, very addictive power... That's quite the experience... It took me (sit down please!) about 100 hours to install it in my home garage on jack stands with the tools I have. It would certainly take me half that time the second time around. But I also took my time and made sure everything was right. All pictures up to now are posted here:

I'll be glad to answer any question you may have about the whole experience. To say that I'm really impressed by APS and their products in an understatement.

I'll be taking an appointment today to strap it on the dyno next week or so. I might also hit the track this weekend. With this 35-40 degree heat, the highest I've seen is 7.6 psi. It should climb to about 8psi with cooler and denser air.

Looks very nice - and quite complete. Mind if i ask a few questions?

- Is this ur daily driver? If so, how is it? TOO much power to drive in traffic?
- How much (approx.) did u save by installing it yourself?
- Any pictures of the car with the fr bumper on? Stock front? Intercooler gets enough air?
- What else (besides whats in the kit) is done to your car perf. wise?
(last one i promise) - will i be able to smoke the TransAm WS6 in my town if i got that kit? heh heh heh

Thanks.

You kidding??? It's perfect, very civilized when you stay out of boost. In fact, it's a little quieter than stock. There is no such thing as TOO much power.

Don't know, certainly a few thousand dollars. I don't see how this install could take less than 40 hours. At $70/hour, that's at least $2,800. $70cdn is not uncommon for a good mechanics or speed shop. I'm not saying I'm as good a mechanics (I'm a computer/IT guy), but you get the point...

No, but I'll get some and post them. The intercooler is always cool to the touch, so I think it works well even if the bumper blocks quite a good portion of it. For stock boost, I think it's good enough. I have a temperature probe at home waiting to be installed. I'll see what I get in terms of intake temps and what water injection will do to that.

Crawford Plenum, that's it. I have hi-flow cats at home, but I want to make sure they will not lean out the car too much. I also have a water injection kit waiting on the table in my garage.

Stock one, for sure. My G35 now feels faster than my old GrandPrix GTP which was running 12.9s. WS6s are NOT running in the 12s in stock form.

Can't wait to see your numbers. With saved money please do Dynojet with SAE correction pulls. Is your block stock or modified?

LOL! Thanks guys. I have an appointment on the dyno on July 25th. Stock everything except for the plenum. It really wasn't that hard to do if you know a little about how things work in general. Even if it was LONNNNGGG, I enjoyed every minute of it (well, almost!). It's even more rewarding now when I mash the happy pedal.

Good job.Better you took your time & quadruple checked everything then going back & fixing it later.

I cant wait to install my APS TT.
With the motor out, I should be able to install the manifolds & turbos quite easily.

Wes

Great job! Glad to see you were finally able to get the G35 conversion kit. I know you were waiting forever for it. Be safe and tune away!
