I just used a clay bar (clay magic) and waxed (Meguire's NXT nano) the g. If anyone is thinking of clay baring the car it is must, I was a noob with the clay at first but a champ by the end. Make the paint look like glass and smooth as silk...glossier than new.

Looks great! I am a big fan of the use of the clay bar, even on brand new cars.

Be sure to post how that NXT nano holds up. I am not familiar with that product (I thought NXT was a product and nano was another product, I most certinaly could be wrong). I have seen great results with NXT, but just personally found that the results were mainly due to the silicone and other fillers and thus degraded VERY quickly. I would be interested if you find otherwise.

i just switched over from zaino to nxt...hopefully i wont see much difference (zaino = bitch to apply)

anyways, it looks like you debadge your rear - try getting the weather strip off for that extra clean look (plus it will be easier to polish/seal/wax!)

 

looks sweet. i've used nxt wax over my zaino polish. the nxt didn't seem to last that long. i think carnuba paste waxes last the longest.

 

Will this help get out swirls?

Paste wax may stay on the paint the longest, but the shine does not. Zaino is hard to beat for a lasting shine. I also don't see what is so hard about it applying it.

Some PS21 or other soft wax over the Zaino tends to warm it up a bit.
Zaino has a 'hard shell shine' while some waxes tend to look deeper. But they don't last as long in my experience.

 

looks great...gotta find a day of free time to zaino my whole car.... the last time i zaino'd my car was when i got the kit back in like march.... all i did was the hood then a week later did the trunk lid... there is definitely a film of dirt evident as i had to clean off a chunk of tree sap.... stoner tar and sap remover with a followup of stoner invisiglass works great... need to get back to waxing the clear bra too...

Claybarring won't help with the swirls. All claybar does is remove contaminants that have bonded with the car like bird poop, tree sap, etc.. It'll make your car feel more smooth but the reason why it's shiny is from the lubricant spray you used with the claybar. After you claybarred your car, you should've waxed it to protect it even more.

If you want to get rid of the swirls, you need something like Meguiar's Mirror Glaze 80, which is applied with by a DA/rotary buffer or by hand.

to shinny...how long did it take you...it took me and a friend liek 3 to 4 hours for a full car wash for this 5 series...and im hella lazy to clay my car...i might do it when winter break comes
