strangest thing ever, my car locked me out WTF???
#16
The only time my 04 auto locks is if you unlock it with the remote, then don't open the door in a short period of time. I guess the assumption then is that you accidentially unlocked it, so it corrects that error.
My car remains unlocked in the garage all night without locking unless I hit the unlock button.

i've never had a problem w/the car locking me out w/the keys in the ignition.
i have noticed that the doors do lock if you unlock the car using the key fob.
i think the trick is if you have the keys in the ignition and your car is turned on to I or II.. it should be fine.. but if you just leave it in the ignition without turning it, it's probably not programmed to sense it.

(I don't have that mod, and I've left my keys in the ignition all the time, when I wash the car... I've never locked myself out... *knocking on wood*)

I was sitting in mine with the key on accessory, talking on the phone, both doors closed and after about 3-5 min. it locked. I was suprised because it never does that when I'm driving. I just assumed it's some kind of safety thing. I've been meaning to check the manual but haven't had time. I always remove the keys and lock the door while getting gas. I might try leaving the key in while its in the garage and see what happens. (with the spare in my hand)
