The car does have an automatic lock feature after a period of time if the keys are not in the ignition. Pisses me off sometimes, but it's there to give you peace of mind if you walk away and forget to lock your doors. Hope you have a spare set available.

Well then you got me, that is strange. Maybe the key was out just enough so the car thought it wasn't in, good luck.

I'm not sure of the time, but after both doors are closed, it will lock itself after a few minutes. Hope AAA can help you.

Try it again, leave the keys in and close the doors. LOL.

That happend to me at the gas station, but my windows was down. One way it locks by it self is after you close the gas door (found that out the other day) my wife's Murano does the same thing.

Here's an idea, leave the key in the ignition, but remove the fob so you can unlock it. Or you can always use your spare, valet or wallet key.

I don't believe it. What really happens is you hit the little door lock tab when you open the latch. You close the door and guess what? You're locked out. It doesn't take much to hit that thing as its such a crappy design in a crappy location.

Took me a while to figure that out too, but now I'm just careful and it hasn't happened in years.

car will definately lock if windows are down, not too sure why your car locked when the windows up and keys in the ignition. strange.
