14,000 mile checkup

I'm up for my 14,000 mile checkup at the dealership. I was quoted $350.00 today over the phone. Does this sound reasonable to y'alls?

Rediculous

I was quoted over $400 when I brought my G to the dealer for 15K service. I asked them what for... After explaining that I know what needs to be done and that there is no way it has to be this much, I negotiated it down to $175. Still a rip-off, but at least I got a loaner.

Seriously. Infiniti called me up and said I was due for that. I asked what they did exactly and they couldn't tell me. I believe at 14K it's just a bunch of inspections, oil and cabin filter change. Definitely not worth $350.

The following information is provided to give you, an Infiniti owner, a better understanding of the scheduled maintenance items that should be regularly checked or replaced.

15,000 Miles or 12 Months
PM : Premium Maintenance
S1 : Schedule 1 Maintenance
S2 : Schedule 2 Maintenance

Replace PM S1 S2
Replace engine oil and filter • • •

$350 does sound ridiculous to me, but at the same time I still want to be on the record of having some maintenance done in the event that I have to get some warranty work in the future (or just sell the car). In any case, I will be taking it in tomorrow for the checkup. And signing over my wallet, apparently.

Don't let them bully you into this. Just because you do not get maintenance from the dealership will not void your warranty. Just keep careful records of your oil changes and other maintenance done and you will be fine.

i never did a checkup on my car, just regular oil change, had 32k miles on my car when i traded it in and had no problems with the car at all except for the headunit, damn speaker cutting off. $35,000 car and i had to listen to FM radio.
