brake warranty

Please clarify something for me. I have 2004 coupe with original brembo breaks. I have about 3 months left on the warranty. I've heard that the warranty now covers the breaks. I just called the dealership and they said that it covers the non-brembo breaks, not the brembo ones.

Is this true? Are they supposed to cover ANYTHING for the brembo?

Thanks.

P.S., if they don't cover brembos and I have to get new breaks, what low dust, yet as good as brembo (but cheaper) breaks do you recommend??

I think the dealer is right, non-Brembos only. Check around under brake topics.
There are a lot of choices for different pads/rotors. Not sure if the Brembos suffer from accelerated pad and rotor wear as well as excess brake dust that the non-Brembos do.
To some a sign of good stopping power, to others a trade-off to meet braking distance with cheap materials.

Warranty does not cover brembo brakes. I know because I got my brakes changed (non-brembo).

How many miles did you guys have on you G's before the brake job. This excessive dust is killing me and I'm at 25K.

I get tons of dust with my brembos. You say that the non-brembs get even more dust? Scary...

Thanks for the info.

It's bad all right, I am on new rotors and supposedly 'improved' pads at 23K on my 04. Done under warranty. Same mess.
I understand the new M45 just went to ceramics all around.

Just get it when you feel that its worn. Check it out... You have up to 36k miles/3 years of purchase date.

The function of the braking system is covered under the 4-year/48,000 mi bumper-to-bumper warranty no matter if Brembo or nonBrembo.

Wear parts such as the rotors and pads are only covered with the nonBrembo brakes for the first 36 months or 36,000 miles, whichever comes first, and only on '03/'03.5/'04 models.
