Received an '07 as a loaner this morning :)
Took my car in b/c the third brake light was not working and my car is still under warranty. The dealership apparently ran out of loaner cars and so I was told enterprise was bringing a car for me.
In my previous service trips I received and '04 and then an '05
, but now I was not sure what to expect. Not that it really matters, but I was hoping the enterprise car would not be the econo-class vehicle. So the enterprise guy comes in, fills out the paperwork, then we go outside and he says I have an '07 with 193 miles on it for you.
Made my morning. Just wish I had the day off to drive around.

My thoughts...
quick things I noticed......The auto transmission when using manual mode still felt sluggish when shifting between gears and I still could not downshift from 4th through 3rd to 2nd when comming to a quick stop. It stuck in 3rd gear until I was near stopped or stopped. Rev matching when downshifting was noticable, but no real difference from my 03.5 when done under normal braking. The display screen for the radio was not touchscreen, which I thought was odd. So while the screen showed ten preset stations, changing b/n them required pushing a directional arrow button up or down. Did not seem as easy as just pushing a number. Overall, the car is nice though.
On a side note, I am a little disappointed they gave the new altima the same headlights as the new G. I like the headlights and hood contour on my 03.5 better.
I only work 5 minutes from the dealership, so I did not get to play around much as I was a little late for work. Maybe on the way back, I'll take a closer look.

Lucky guy! Thank God it wasn't like a Chevy Malibu or one of the other rental fleet cars... HEHE. I hear ya about the non-touchscreen thing w/ the radio. It's not too big of a problem when using the steering wheel controls, IMO. Hopefully you'll have a chance to have some fun with it before your car is ready to be picked-up!

The touch screen option is only available on the '07 G's equipped with the navigation package. With this package you also get Infiniti's voice recognition software which allows you to do things such as tune the radio, adjust the climate control, or control the navigation menus by simply using voice commands. On cars equipped without the Nav package all adjustments must be made either through the use of controls on the center console, or by using the controls mounted on the left side of the steering wheel. Hope this information helps to answer some of your questions.
