Angry Stock 03-04 Stereo.....*rant*

Well now that I have replaced the awful speakers that came in this car (worst I've heard in 03+ cars cheap and expensive) I am getting very irritated with the stock stereo. If it is REMOTELY cold outside the cd player will skip for the first 15 minutes off and on, sometimes it does not respond to inputs such as changing tracks or volume (steering wheel and headunit). And even better sometimes it will not turn on at all. I'd say it acts up about 40% of the time which is enough to drive you insane, especially after spending close to a grand on speakers and an amp. Thanks for letting me rant about this!

Yeah, the headunit definately hates the cold. Waiting to play a cd bothers me too.

And I thought mine was the only one that did that, lol.

Its definitely not the worst stereo, in fact, I think its one of the better sounding ones for a stock car. I really like the harmon kardon system in bmw's, but in reality a lot of cars just get terrible stereos. Any truck i've heard is unbearably bad.

Really? Here are the stock stereos that sound better in my opinion, you may be shocked:

My dad's 04 GMC Duramax Diesel truck, friend's Mitsubishi Galant, Mom's 07 Accord EX V6, Bose in my friends 350z, Volvo V70, Subaru Legacy GT, Audi S4,basically every car i've been in lately lol.

A lot of that is subjective to what sounds good to you.

Volvo's have exceptional stereos that sound much more "full" than average thanks to the large center speaker in the dash. The 350z has less interior space than our cars do, so that explains the richer acoustics.

Accords sound aweful IMO. If I crank it up the speakers cannot produce clear low to midrange sound while a high pitch hits. Legacy's are comparable to ours, the gt was actually something I was considering purchasing at the same time as the G, nice cars!

The audi can have the nicest stereo in the world, but you wont be able to hear it about 3 months in the year because it'll be tied up in the shop, lol.

Another is the Lexus stereos. I dont care for them at all, the regular stereo is so so, and the premium upgraded one is practically the same thing with more bass.

The G is average I think, just the skipping gets annoying.

Well, I have found all Honda stereos to be awful until I listened to my mom's 07 Accord and it is much improved, very full mids and bass, decent highs
