Trouble Fueling my G

So, i'm having trouble fueling my coupe. The damn gas pump keeps popping like the tank is full. It won't engage and keep pumping. Anyone know why it does this?

There is a 'Fuel Filler Hose Recall' that helps. However, a quick way around it... turn the fuel nozzle 90 degrees. It works for me when my car is being temperamental.

I don't know if this is the reason....

But, my car has been sitting in my garage on a low gas tank for close to a month. Does that affect it?

Also, what does the 'Fuel Filler Hose Recall' do? How do i know if i need it?

When I first bought mine it did that... I was like 'WTF I NEED THIS GAS PLAZE' ... But now I don't have a problem at all, heh. Weird.

Call the dealer and see if your car is part of the recall on the fuel hose. I brought mine in for a totally different problem when I picked up my car they said they also replaced the feul hose. Don't leave your tank empty when storing the car for that long fill it up and put Stabil to keep the fuel fresh inside the tank. Nothing worse than bad fuel inside your car. Goodluck I hope you fix the problem.

Did you try a different pump? I've had that problem when the pump was not working properly.

Will the gas pump if you manually push back vapor boot? You know...like when you fill up those gasoline jugs.

Ya, i even tried another pump. And still the same problem.

Why is it bad to leave the car on empty when in storage? The dealership does that when it's sitting at their showroom.

i've had the valve replaced and it still did it later. they changed some sensor this last time around. so we'll see. so far so good, but i notice its at certain pumps. haven't tried those pumps since the last fix.

I had the exact same issue as you do when I first got my G. I got it fixed via the following TSB. I trust this will cure your issue, as well. Good luck and let us know how it went.

Fuel hose recall is another issue entirely...

There is a valve in the filler neck to prevent pressure build up....thats what is giving you the trouble.....some stations pump pressure is higher than others.... Take it to the dealer...they should replace the valve.

This was a major issue back in 03-04-05....

just fill the car up at shell or mobile stations and you wont have a problem. those are the only stations i can use, any other stations just give me few gallons and it stops.
