if your looking to powershift...save yourself your transmission - go buy an auto and put a valve body in it. That way you can't powershift into reverse. your shifts will be "faster" than any manual out there and you will never have to worry about missing a shift.

Do you have an upgraded valve body?
Cheryl's 04 5AT couldn't hope to match my shifting speed from 2 to 3 and 3 to 4. From 1 to 2, it's faster than me if I shift at redline. If I shift at ~6k, her old automatic was still slower.
And you can still miss a shift, somewhat, in an automatic. You can bounce off the revlimiter, which can be just as detrimental as physically missing a shift.
But - a manual driver can never hope to match the consistency of an automatic.

just out of curiosity but i was reading the manual and it said i could adjust the rev limiter but cant seem to find it on my base 6mt. i've never ever seen that light come on to tell u wen to shift so dunno if it's suppose to come on the "REV" light is on but dunno how to adjust or to turn it off.

As for the revlimiter, yeah it sucks when you hit it, but id rather hit a revlimiter than the totally wrong gear... Nothing a ECU reflash cant take care of.

This has been discussed ad nauseum. Car mags have done tests (Car and Driver) and found that it made no measurable difference in the 0-60 or 1/4 mile times. Sure it's fun, but it's not worth the wear and tear on the car. A good driver knows how to drive fast AND smooth. Ask any professional track driver, smooth is the best way to win cause it easier on the car AND the driver.
