Infiniti to start selling G35 in China this year

I didn't see anyone post this, so here it is - according to Business Week. Imagine the G35 sport stuck behind bicycles in traffic.
___
Infiniti G35

In July, Nissan will spearhead the launch of the Infiniti luxury brand in China with the introduction of the Infiniti G35 sedan (known as the Nissan Skyline in Japan). As part of Nissan’s Infiniti rollout, the Japanese auto maker plans to open up to 10 Infiniti dealerships in China by the end of the year, starting with showrooms in Shanghai, Beijing, and Shenzhen.

As part of Infiniti’s debut in China this summer, Nissan will also launch the popular Infiniti FX crossover SUV. The Japanese auto maker will offer both the 3.5 liter V6 and the more powerful 4.5 liter V8 FX45 versions to Chinese customers. Both models are built at Nissan’s plant in Kanagawa, outside Tokyo.

Good move, there are plenty of rich ppl wanting to buy luxury cars there. If Japan takes over the chinese market they'll rule the world!

Yeah, there are plenty of rich ppl in China. Then again, the price of a car costs double what is costs here. Not to mention the cost of ownership and super high gas prices (I stopped complaining about gas prices after seeing my friend fill up approx. $150USD worth of gas in his ML and it wasn't even full yet!)

Also, You know that most of the major auto makers have plants in China..just like how Nissan has plants in the US. So a lot of Japanese and American cars sold in China are really Chinese-built.

The news release said the Infiniti models will be imported. I know some of the Nissans are built there, but Infiniti won't be built there yet (neither are Lexus or Acura). That means high tax on the models. I don't know price wise if they will be as competitive as the China domestic built MB/Audi/BMW.

Cherry's cool, it has the Infiniti-like symbol, and Audi-like vehicle naming scheme (A6). j/k
