Changing own oil and warranty
Changing own oil and warranty
I like to change my own oil, but I'm wondering how I can prove I've done it at the correct intervals (with the correct oil) if I have engine problems in the future. Save the receipts? Take pictures with a current newspaper in hand?
Any ideas?
BTW - I did search, but came up empty.
Thanks!

Thanks guys. I was sort of half way kidding about the newspaper, but I'm having trouble coming up with ideas, other than the receipt and log book. Does anyone else have any ideas? I can't be the only one who does this.
Thanks!
Thanks!
My dealer says that I should keep the receipts, but, he is only going to charge me $8 labor, my filter and oil plus I get a free hand wash, well worth it and they document the change.

i'm lost. is this common? i've never been asked about oil changes when i've taken my car in for service. is this only for infiniti? i've never had to show proof that oil changes had been done for my other cars. does california dealerships ask for this as well?
just keep receipts.... if you have a problem they'll dump your oil and see how burnt or discolored it is if you have an issue-- other than that just keep your own records of all service work
