this makes NO sense

why does the 2003 sedan weigh less than the 2003 coupe ? why wouldnt the coupe weigh less it has half as many doors, holds one less person and it has a shorter height and length ?

The G37 coupe weighs around 60lbs more than the 07 G35 sedan as well.

They are reinforced with steal beams in the door and rear quarter panels to help with safety issues. This might be why...but to tell you the truth i have no idea.

it's all in the doors and the body...the doors on the coupe are made heavier and stronger inside....and the rear body panel is made stronger to support rear occupants since there's no door back there with support....

the reinforcement on the doors makes sense and I also noticed that the coupe is wider too

isn't this the case for most coupes and sedans? the coupes usually weigh more. example http://consumerguideauto.howstuffwor...3-series-3.htm
same reasons why convertibles weigh more. extra reinforcement.
