Spark Plug Tube Seals Leaking
The spark plug seals are "built" into the valve cover. they cannot be replaced. They valve cover gasket is a separate gasket. Which also needs to be replaced when you get the new valve cover.
This is a common problem which usually occurs at 70K miles.
The valve cover is also plastic. Not sure why it cost almost $200 each for some cheap azz plastic.

I said the same thing, I was told the seals only come on new covers. I did not like that answer, I will be researching a fix for this, I did not read all the posts on this, so hope I am not speaking on an already fixed issue, too little time and too much stuff 2 do.
OK, did not see the OLDness of the thread, I can get things made from rubber, but will have to check the resistance to heat and oil, if they can assure me of that being covered, them I'm in the oil seal business! Let the dealer keep their mega buck plastic.
Just buy 2 new valve covers.

replacement parts companies never make aftermarket valve covers for our cars yet? is the valve cover the same for all vq motors from all the different cars its in? is it interchangable with other cars with vqs?
All I asked was they make something that cost no more than the OEM covers and that the O-rings used would be something universal and can be purchased at auto-zone or pepboys.
The only company that responded with interests was Weapon R.
You can try it but you somehow have to get your old seals off. I dont think they just pop off theirs a thread on here where someone else tried that. Rtv silicone with a gasket like that. Its all boiled down to just buying their valve covers and doing the job yourself if not under warranty or letting them do it under warranty.
can anyone post a picture. cus honesly ive never seen wat it looks like so i cant really judge. i mean someone had to put the seals in the cover from the factory. or was it somehow molded into the cover from the press?
There are no silicone or rubber gasket for the plugs. Just a round piece of plastic molded into the valve cover. Over time, the plastic melts causing the oil leak.
In order to install some o-rings or gaskets, you have to dremal or cut out the plastic piece that is sticking out. Not sure how well this would work.

As you can see, its a pos plastic valve cover. Unlike the metal valve cover with replicable o-rings other cars have.
