stupid but prob easy to answer

make this short...every 3 months i put about 1,000 miles on my car...the dealership is telling me if i don't change my oil every three months it can void my warranty...is it really nessesary to change my oil at 1,000.

you can strech it if you use a better oil, but oil does break down after time and loses some of it properties ( dont ask what not sure )

The manual says you *can* go 7500 miles without changing the oil depending on your driving, etc. Read in there - it's interesting

Tell them to go take a flying leap and find another dealer to do your service.

why don't you just put 3k miles on a car in a month and change your oil monthly.

It used to always be every 3000 miles or every 3 months, which ever comes first. Now, even with being able to stretch the miles out to 7500, I wouldn't expect the time to change that greatly. Besides, 4 oil-changes a year isn't asking that much.

With just 6300 miles on my '05 6MT, I have to go by the time instead of the miles.

How the hell do you only put 1000 miles in 3 months?!!

I put like...1500 - 2000 a month...daily driver? 18 years old social life? Pointless driving around just because? Maybe thats why

Its my weekend car...plus i bought it i put too much money into it to make it a daily driver plus rush hour on long island sucks.
