Engine sqeal/sqeak/high-pitch noise?!

this sucks. I recently took my '06 6mt to the dealer for a sticky clutch pedal. They fixed it fine, but then i noticed a high pitched squeal coming from the engine. It actually sounds like a belt slipping. It only sounds like that in the morning when its cooler. I really dont wanna take it to the dealer b/c they always mess something up.

Any suggestions??

seriously man!! Dammit, this is embarrasing. I usually make fun of people that drive cars around making funny noises. Now I'm one of them!

That happend to me when my OEM crank pulley ceased. They tried to blame it on an aftermarket intake...I laughed and demanded someone who knows cars come take a look...happend right as I was picking the car up for other service items.

They replaced the pulley - you probably should not touch your own pulley unless experienced - and you'll need a breaker bar to boot.

Its your belt slipping...mine does the same thing until the car is warmed up.When you start the car let your the engine warm until you are at 1100 rpms, then put it in reverse or whatever.

Belt either needs to be adjusted or replaced. I agree with some other posts, unless you've had the experience and the tools to do it yourself, take it back to the dealer or find a mechanic who can do it for you.

I have the same problem. I had my belts changed and tightened so that is not it. I have change the ALTERNATOR IDLER PULLEY. That was not it. It is problemly the prower steering pump the whole thing or the alternator.
DONT SPRAYING ANYTHING ON THE BELTS. WD-40, belt dressing etc. makes it worst!

Me **** lasts for like 2 whole mintures. its is Annoying also embrassing.

People call infiniti and tell them about the problem they said if a lot of people call in they will do a recall on it. I also filed a complaint to NHTSA. you can do the same.
