I don't know if I'd call it wrong but you're definitely burning through a lot more gas than you should be and putting added stress on the motor and transmission.
unsure if your being sarcastic, however I normally shift around 4k sometime around 5k if I want more toque. My mph may have been inaccurate because around 100mph on freeway I was at 5200rpm and I dont normally drive it that aggressive but I can definately pull if you do drive this way.
appreciate the response , so when are you typically shifting at what rpm? I live in the bay area so 5th and 6th gear are pointless unless the roads are empty at night. So maybe that's why I probably go high rpms in 4th.
thanks is for the tip I'll treat my vq better. Normally I'm shifting around 3k - 4k normally aggressively around 5k . Pretty sure some of you on here would say that's normal.

On the highway at 75 MPH in 6th the GTO hums along at about 1700 RPMs. I get better gas mileage on the highway in the Goat than we do in the G but the G has a 3.5 diff with a 5AT.

That's actually not that bad considering I get like 20 shifting at around 4.5k on my daily drives with a couple redline blasts mixed in. Was this 16 MPG achieved after 1700 miles of WOT relining every gear (track driving) or was it more just normal spirited street driving with the occasional max accel pull to keep up?
