Needed new rear tires after 20k miles...normal?
Took my car into dealer because my right rear kept leaking air. He said that there was a nail in there, but my tire insurance wouldn't cover it because it was at 0/32 of tread!
Driving home, i had the rear right blow out on me. Put a spare on it and ordered the same tires from tirerack.com. Cost me $600 for the tires and balancing
24K miles on stock tires. So it's no surprise to see them last a while.

I have about 16k on my car, rotated the tires once, and they're going pretty quick as well. Stock tires depend on the dealer. Mine are Good Years, some come with Bridgestone Turanzas.
Geez how aggressive are you guys driving? Granted that I don't go 0-60 in 5 secs all the time but I'm at 33k miles on oem 19's. If it wasn't for the fact that one of them is unbalanced, I still have about 8-10k miles left.
R we talking about the Coupe or Sedan? If I get over 10,000 miles out of my rears on my 04 Coupe with 17s before I'm down to 2/32 on the middle tread I'll be happy as a lark! The fronts will generally make it into the 20 Thou mark. I think many owners are driving their cars without paying attention the "rear middle " tread area and are actually driving the car past the 2/32 mark until the tire just about becomes slick on the middles. That will always wear down first with the factory rims. Aftermarket rims are another story as most are wider and can accomodate the wider tire.

My rear just gave out on me...a nail put a pretty mean hole in it but the tires were pretty much done at 20k anyways. The front seems like its good for another 3-4k but im changing all four pretty soon.
