Neutralize my G

I always found the stock sport suspension and tires understeers too much especially on slow corner. The front end just won't bite and the rear end doesn't rotate quick enough.

After installing Stillen sway bar with med/med setting, Bridgestone race compound 245/45 tires, the setup is a lot more neutral and turn-in is a lot more precise. Slow corners are more neutral but high speed corner is a lot more stable. The rear responds better to throttle input. It feels like I am driving a shorter wheel base car. I am extremely happy with the current setup. The ride suffers a little after installing the sway bar but it's a small price to pay for the added performance.

Next will probably be a set of Tokico D-Spec.

I don't have the sways, but my 245-45-18's helped cornering a lot too.

I've just read a review of the current latest 350Z grand touring. They said the car is a lot more neutral at the limit whereas the previous year car pushed a lot at the limit. Nissan said there was no basic change in suspension for the year. The only change was tire selection. So I guess tires and minor suspension tweaks help a lot.

Same with the Corvette Z06. The current version is a lot more easy to drive than when it first came out couple years ago. The only changes they made was different springs and shocks.

I have never driven cars like Boxster or 911 but my car being neutral now, it's a lot more fun to drive. Hm... imagine if I could get my hands on a 911, life would be so sweet ...

Where did you purchase your sway bar from?

I purchased from Stillen factory and had them installed there as well. Total is about $400.

I think I would play with sway bar settings, possibly high in front low in rear. Maybe this would make it atoo tail-happy , but this is how I like my cars!!!

I'm runnig 255/40/18 toyos up front and bfg's kdw's in back, stock suspension ( not for long) and I really haven't noticed a lot of understeer, and I hate understeer, but I haven't driven her too hard yet either

I have my sways set for soft in front, med in rear and it is pretty neutral both high and low speed. Believe me, the addition of d-specs will make it that much better.

Hoenignd,

How's the ride with Tokico-Dspecs? How much drop for front and rear?
Do you happen to have a picture of your car?
Thanks.

Just getting back to this thread.....I'll grab some pictures in the next day or so and post them up.

The d-specs are a nice ride...I have them set at a little firmer than stock for a more sporty response, but it doesn't rattle the fillings out of your teeth

Nice pic. Thanks for the pic.

That's a nice drop. My guess is around 1in. or so?

After doing some research, I think I'll go with Z revise srping/shock -- seems like a cost effective way.

Yeah, it was about a 1in drop. I've got about a finger gap in the rear and between 1-1.5 in the front. Good luck with the drop.
