TrueDelta Vehicle Reliability Survey results - Infiniti G35
The latest TrueDelta Vehicle Reliability Survey results have been posted. These are for the year ending September 30, 2007.
Note: this is a report of an earlier thread because some bonehead (me) misspelled Infiniti in the title.
For the 2003 Infiniti G35, I have an average of 5.6 months of data on 30 cars. The stat of 92 successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year (0.9 per vehicle) is about average for a 2003 model.
The sample sizes for 2004 and 2005 were insufficient, and those results are marked with an asterisk. The result for 2006 barely avoided an asterisk, but the result does not appear to be accurate. For all three years more participants are needed. Based on the existing data, the repair rate for all three years is probably around 50 successful repair trips pre 100 cars, average to a bit better than average.
For the 2007 Infiniti G35 sedan, I have an average of 4.5 months of data on 36 cars. The stat of 74 successful repair trips per 100 vehicles per year (0.7 per vehicle) is about average for a 2007 model.
That said, 2/3 of the reported repairs on the 2007 involved either detached sunroof trim or the passenger seat heater. Both are known issues covered by TSBs, and should not affect more recently produced cars.
Everyone who has been helping out with this research, thanks, these results wouldn't have been possible without you. Those who aren't yet helping out, I hope you'll consider doing so. I'd like to post separate results for the coupe and sedan, but more coupes will be necessary for this to happen.
