Mine is just at default. I don't have a reason to shut it off.

I was told by an infiniti salesman to turn it off because it would accelerate faster and not cut the throttle if I chirp into 2nd or 3rd gear. I was not impressed until I turned it off and then that sold me the car ;D So I am not happy unless its off. If its nice out and the roads are not wet give it a try see how you like it. Its not dangerous or anything to have it off It just gives you full control of the throttle.

how likely are you to spin out or whip the tail on a curve/close lane change/turn if you have VDC off on dry road at almost WOT?

how likely with summer tires in dry < 40 degree weather?

I've been turning it off on a few occasions, but the last two nights in the row I've almost been sideswiped by cars trying to merge into my lane. Didn't break traction, but tonight I came real close. Going about 65 and some idiot in a beat up Camaro swerved over and came within a foot of my right door. I had to cut hard left to avoid him and then hard right to stay on the road. Thank God for the G's superb handling or I would probably be in jail right now for killing that guy. I dunno, but maybe other drivers aren't seeing my Blue Slate at night.

Think I'll leave the VDC on.

I don't know what it is about the G and having people swerve into my lane. It's happened more times than I can count.

About the VDC...I leave it on most of the time, especially if it is wet out, but there is this one intersection that I must turn it off in order to turn left. It's really busy traffic in both directions and you just have to launch the car or wait all day for a break in traffic in both lanes. I did it once with VDC on and thought I was gonna get T-boned.

I usually turn if off most of the time. One time I thought VDC almost got me into trouble. One time braking a bit late into a right hand turn, with VDC still on, I had absolutely no steering. I think usually with VDC off, late braking produces oversteer which you can correct and at least have a chance to get you out of trouble. But at that instance when I had VDC on, I just went straight and had no steering and almost hit the curb, but luckily I stopped just short of the curb and only had a slight rub on the left front wheel ( which still hurts a little).
