installed 5/8" spacer today.. got some ?'s

im n/a and i originally i was going with the 5/16 spacer but i got a deal on this one and ran with it... Anyways ive searched and read all bout them i just wanted some new opinions....

Do you guys think that i will run to lean with the 5/8"? i have cai(nismo) and exhaust(greddy evo2) as well....

what would be your next mod? is my daily driver but i go to drag strip alot too...

should i go with a utec? heard i could gain maybe another 20-30hp with these mods and a utec tuned right..

I have no experience with the spacer, however it is my understanding that in addition to giving more flow to the back two cylinder intakes, it equalizes the flow somewhat. That said, I can't see how it would make you run lean.

The early models (yours) of the G could see quite an improvement with bolt on mods. Remapping the fuel might make a noticeable increase. In the latter models, N/A mods did not make as big a difference as NISSAN squeezed a lot of HP out of them.

No, that's electronically controlled. The EMU will compensate.

Just get some HFC's or TP's w/e you like best. Then get a tune you will be running sort of lean by then. Get a reflash, theres plenty of threads on this ^_^. GL

how the hell do you get the studs out that have to be removed and replaced with bolts they provided?

idk what studs your talking about but ive done several installs and all thats required is that you take the stock bolts out and replace them with longer ones. Then re-tourque them correctly otherwise you will get a leak and thats a no no

VERY IMPORTANT! Proper torque should be observed because several here have snapped off the heads of the new bolts by using too much force!

you are referring to the two studs on the driver and passenger sides?... Run 2 nuts down the threads, hold top with box end wrench and back the bottom out with an open-end wrench… if the stud is not real tight, you can probably get priers on it and just back it out…

As for running lean: I had intake, exhaust, ½” spacer and was okay… I didn’t lean out until HFC… then more lean with TBS and machined upper and lower collector… So you are probably okay with what you have, but if you intend to do more breather mods, you might as well wait to get your tune.

To your question about added performance at the track – do you drag race or road race?… Are you MT or AT?… I’m AT and drag race, shorter gears were a very good mod for me! With AT 3.7 (3.692) is a good option, or 3.5 if you find used… if you are MT 3.9 or 4.0 are good choices… BTW, your rmp will be 300-400 higher across the entire range, so you will need to bump the rev limiter when you decide to get a tune... otherwise you will have an added shift before finish line

Hope this helped.

Edit: forgot about your idle question... as long as you don’t touch the throttle plate (which will be exposed when you take the intake tube off) your idle should be fine... If you were asking about a tune affecting your idle, some can bump the idle if you want... the spacer itself should not change your idle.

If you got 0.3 better in the 1/8, you got your moneys worth!

Why not tune with a apexi safc if you dont have any crazy mods like boost) and just want to even out the A/F ratio ?
