Tire pressure sensor? How sensitive is it?

I have an 05 Coupe and yesterday the low tire pressure light went on in the dash. I did a quick look at all the tires and they all seem fine. It is FRRREEEEEZZZING cold here so I havent made it to the air pump to fill the tires up.

My question is, how sensitive is the sensor? If i lose 1 psi does it realize it?

Sorry this isn't an answer but I was wondering the same thing. My light keeps coming on and i check all my tires and even filled them twice but then the light popped back on. Until I see a specific bump or a large difference in pressure reading I'm just goin to ride it out until spring/summer. Denver winters are cold. hahaha good luck

the sensors are set to go off if the pressure drops below 27psi. the light should go away once all of the tires have been filled up

My light was going on every morning when it was cooler than 40 degrees outside. After driving for about 30 minutes it would shut off. I called the dealer and talked to them about it. They told me that the sensor get activated when the tire pressure is 28 psi and that the colder the air the more it compresses. So, when it is real cold the air pressure goes down causing the light to go on. When the air warms up the psi goes up and the light goes off. He told me to put 34 psi in each tire, which I did, and the light has not come back on since. Again, this was what the dealer told me, so if it is not scientifically correct, it is what they told me.
