vdc, slip and brake lights
vdc, slip and brake lights
Recently with the cold weather, below 35 my vdc, slip and brake lights come on in the dash. The brake light goes off on its own but the vdc and slip lights stay on. Sometimes the lights will shut down after a restart, sometimes not. The brake fluid is good in the master cylinder. Almost seems like a speed sensor is not reading one of the wheels, like at the dyno. Any ideas?

It is likely the ABS sensor or the brake pads needing to be replaced. Run it over to the dealer and they can pull the code and tell you for certain.
If you want more info, do a search because this is a very often addressed issue. Good luck.

Replaced front and rear pads. That cleared the problem, however, all the pads were only half worn. Probably could have just filled master cylinder. Thats pretty ballsy for infiniti to make all those warning lights go on when the brake fluid is only half empty. The worst part is that you lose vdc and traction control when all the lights are lit. If it was not snow season, I would have refilled the master as my lease is up in september.

YEP - this solved my problem 2
Just an FYI Folks. Was bleeding my brake lines and the fluid level was half way between min and max. Started the car, SLIP, VDC and ebrake all stayed on. Began to freek out - then I remembered the site motto:
"Don't panic, just search"
and sure enough stumbled across this thread. Filled up the brake fluid to max and the lights turned off. Have to agree, very ballsy to throw a code for the fluid level not being at the MAX level. They should have just said "FILL LINE" and not given an option.
Thanks again, g35driver,
