Smile Newbie Here

I just purchased a G35 today. The car is really nice. I love the ride comfort and all the cool little features inside. I guess my supra is a little outdated.
I will be using this as a Daily Driver. I don't plan to do much. Just wheels and grille and little things like that.

I have a really noob question. What is a Z tube? lol

Thanks. Looks stock. Does it void warranty? Does it proved any noticeable results?

sorry sir a z-tube doesnt = cai

a z-tube will replace the factory g-tube that we have thats more restrictive. a z-tube will give you more sound and maybe an increase in horse power. if you want to keep a stock looking intake get a k&n drop in filter and z-tube or a stillen cai or a z-tube/jwt pop-charger combo

I was actually referring to the whole CAI setup, filter and tube.

Its still not a CAI. A Z-tube is more of a short ram. Cold air intake is an intake with a pipe configuration in way that it is directly sucking in cold air. The filter of the CAI is usually located outside of the engine compartment. For example, an AEM CAI has the filter comming out of the engine bay and located behind the front bumper. Injen also has the ability to convert the CAI into a short ram incase it rains.

As for warranty, I talked to a guy at infiniti parts and services, He told me that what ever you do to the car it wont void the whole warranty but if something does go wrong, The only way they can void the whole warranty if they can specifically point the problem was caused by what you changed.

If you feel you been wrongly denied of your warranty, you always have the The Magnuson-Moss Warranty Act (15 U.S.C. 2302(C)) to fall back on.

This federal law regulates warranties for the protection of consumers. The essence of the law concerning aftermarket auto parts is that a vehicle manufacturer may not condition a written or implied warranty on the consumers using parts or services which are identified by brand, trade, or corporate name (such as the vehicle maker's brand) unless the parts or service are provided free of charge. The law means that the use of an aftermarket part alone is not cause for denying the warranty. However, the law's protection does not extend to aftermarket parts in situations where such parts actually caused the damage being claimed under the warranty. Further, consumers are advised to be aware of any specific terms or conditions stated in the warranty which may result in its being voided. The law states in relevant part:

No warrantor of a consumer product may condition his written or implied warranty of such product on the consumers using, in connection with such product, any article or service (other than article or service provided without charge under the terms of the warranty) which is identified by brand, trade or corporate name... (15 U.S.C. 2302(C)).

congrats and welcome.

z-tube on the left g-tube on the right... the z-tube is less restrictive

this is the z-tube/JWT pop charger... not a very good heat shield

this is the Stillen high flow air box/z-tube... the better out of the 2

you will still have warranty
